Our client is a world class research centre which has been internationally recognised for their findings. This is a chance to be part of a very special team and for the right person this will be more than just a job.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who still wants to be involved in the health industry but put their experienced nursing skills to use in other ground breaking areas.
As the coordinator for the trials you will be liaising with a wide range of people and groups; research nurses, study Doctors, Radiologists, Neurosurgeon’s, cancer nurses, GP’s and many more. The ability to confidently communicate and navigate relationships within the sector will be crucial to your success in the role.
On the patient side you will be responsible for the following:
- Vetting of patients and checking of eligibility
- Maintaining patient records within the database
- Booking patient scans
- Coordinating patient blood tests
- Liaising with lab staff
- Managing delivery of specific medication
In addition, you will be coordinating four meetings a year with an independent monitoring board and other ad hoc meetings relating to the trials around the country. You will need to have your finger on the pulse coordinating multiple tasks.
Key requirements for this role are a background in nursing, ideally oncology and someone who has been involved in clinical studies or trials previously. While the role is based at Hutt Hospital, there will be a requirement to travel into the office in Newtown at times.
We are looking for someone who is available to work 16 hours a week across 4-5 days and it is estimated that these hours will increase throughout the contract.
This is a unique opportunity and I am looking forward to presenting the best candidates to my client. Don’t hesitate to send your application or call me to discuss the role.
