Accounts Officer (Fixed term)

About the role:

Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. This role is based in a small, busy depot based in the Ngauranga Gorge, and reports to the company Director.

  • Accounts Receivable. Working with the Director to follow up on receivables, take credit card payments and refer to collections when required.
  • Accounts Payable. Ordering stock for the depot, workshop supplies and making these payments. Automating payments where possible.
  • Monitor and manage the AR and AP inboxes.
  • Looking after salaried payments for staff, using the iPayroll system. Processing extra payments for out of hours call outs.

About you:

A great attitude, punctual and reliable. You are the kind of person who can look at the bigger picture, advising the Director of potential issues before they happen, and you aren’t afraid to pick up the phone to gather information.

Must be able to work from the office 5 days per week.

What you will bring to the role:

  • To pick up the phone, and contact customers for payment.
  • Technology skills. You must be comfortable working with numbers, using Xero and other software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and are able to work accurately.
  • Experience in managing accounts receivable and producing monthly reports.
  • Having knowledge of the plumbing industry and using SimPro, Calxa and iPayroll is advantageous. Training will be given to the right candidate in these areas.
  • You enjoy talking to people, are an active listener, and when appropriate will ask quality questions.
